Failure

Hi my writing friends! It's been a long while since I posted anything...at...all here on my writing blog.
There's a few reasons why:

  • We had a death in the family
  • My books weren't where I wanted them to be
  • I had an interesting experience with a frienemy at a writer's conference that depressed me
  • I got discouraged
  • I felt like a failure and decided it wasn't worth it all
  • I worried too much about what other people thought (for another post another day)
  • OH! And my laptop was STOLEN!!!! ugh

But here I am again, in 2017, trying again. Why? I will tell you why:

I used to have a favorite quote about failure in the home, but then I found out...failure happens. And sometimes in large ways.

To have success, you have to fail. That's the way it works. You can't have one without the other. Sorry to break the news.

Success is a string of failures mapping out a route to an end goal. If you don't keep on the path to that goal, you become lost and that's when you fail. If your path diverts to a new path, then that end goal becomes new, as long as you keep going.

So...I have a new favorite quote about homes and failure, "The only time you fail in the home is when you stop trying." (I wish I could remember who said it, but someone did, and thank you to that someone. Kimball?)

So the moral of this post...KEEP TRYING!!! Things will be hard, things might get sticky, things will be difficult. And that's okay!

Just keep trying!!!

What are some of the things you do to help yourself succeed??? I eat chocolate...lots and lots of chocolate (and then I have to run... because of the calories of the chocolate.) 😊

Next week we will discuss how to find time to write. See you then.
