Summer, I will miss you...a little

First thing...I'm BACK! Summer was a great break, but it's time to get back to work!

Second, I always feel a little twinge of sadness when my kids have to go back to school in the fall.
I’ll miss our daily activities and spending leisurely moments by the pool with them.

This is the last year we will all be together as a little family. My oldest is moving from high school to college. Life is changing.

But I can always feel the excitement in the air during this time. The chance for extra writing time, the renewal of adventure. Sometimes I feel like this:
(Oooo, I need to buy some school supplies)

So instead of pouting (really...sulking into pillow because my kids can't be THAT old yet), I will look at the bright side of things and my renewed spirit of writing.

How about you? What will you miss about summer? What will you not miss?

Have a great week everyone! I've gotta get my butt in the chair for some good writing time. ;)

I love that commercial. I'll be there this afternoon, getting all the odd supplies for various classes.

Is there a best part of summer? It's all good!

Best. Commercial. Ever! Totally laughing here.

Though my kids are actually still in the "I LOVE school." stage. (or the "I want to go to school, too!" stage).

We started two weeks ago, and I do miss the leisurely pool time. But I still have my girlie at home, so I can do that leisurely thing with her. :)

I can't wait until all my kids are in school. And considering I haven't even had all of my kids yet, that's a long time coming. Oh well, I just have to figure out how to write anyway!

I'm sitting here thinking, "Summer's over? But it's still August." Then I remember how it is when you have kids. Once school starts, that's the end of summer! Without kids in my house the seasons all kind of run together.

I'll admit, I'm a bit sentimental when my girls head back to school. It makes me feel old- LOL

I'll miss swimming and camping and spending time with family.

That commercial is funny! Although I'm one of those parents that really struggles sending my kids back to school. I seriously miss them and the house feels empty and hollow without them. :(

Still it's good for them and probably good for me to get things done...

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great summer!

Welcome back!
Isn't it strange how you just blink and your kids turn into adults?

I've always loved that commercial. Too funny. I know how you feel. I get sad when they go back too. I miss the pool and the lack of homework and sleeping in. But I look forward to fall too. We have five birthdays in a month between Sept. and Oct. And then Halloween and Thanksgiving. And Christmas is coming! Sooner than you think! Welcome back to blogging.

Welcome back! You're just in time to be tagged on my blog today. :)

If I have a twinge of sadness, I can't find it. I've always very happy when my kids go back to school. That sounds pretty bad, but they're actually happier when they go to school too. :)

Glad you had a wonderful summer! Yes, I'm so sad to see it go. It's hard to let this season go even though I love fall, too.

What's holding me back is I'm so not ready for winter. Yuck!

Happy writing! :)

I'm glad you had such a lovely summer with your kiddos. I miss K when she goes back to school. I realized yesterday that she graduates in 20 months. I've kind of been a mess since I figured it out.

I'm like you too. I don't want summer to go, but on the other hand, I have not done a stitch of writing since mid July, so I'm about ready to get back to work. :)

I'm just coming back after a summer off blogging, too. It's so good to catch up with everyone again! I'll miss the time with my kids, for sure, but I'm really ready for a break from the horrible heat we've had all summer!
