Stories Don't just Stop with You

Love you AlphaSmart (thanks PhotoBucket)

I have this awesome device called and AlphaSmart Dana

See it right there? I love it!

I use it when my kids are on my computer, when I have to carpool and am stuck in the car for an hour, and when my lappy isn’t working (my charger broke down and am without it for a week! A week! Ack!)

Well, the best thing happened today when I hit that power button on my AlphaSmart. I found a story, I hadn’t written. My son had.

The best feeling is seeing your children grasp on to something you hold close to your heart. When I saw his story, I couldn’t help my heart feeling full (and the smile wouldn’t wipe off my face for hours).

What about you? Have you had any unexpected surprises happen from doing the things that you love?

That is wonderful! I definitely see that my writing has an effect on my kids. They run the other way. lol. :) Just kidding. They are growing up to be tougher critics of what they read and watch. Nice to know that they do pay attention to what we're doing.

Actually my daughter began writing stories and showing them to me. My love for reading has really spilled over to both of my girls.

However, a funny surprise happened once. I have a habit of playing with my hair- I turn my head side to side at a good pace and feel it brush my face and back.
Well I went to parent teacher conferences for my 8yr old and the teacher says- K does this strange thing where she play with her hair- The teacher shakes her head back and forth.
I laughed.

What a wonderful discovery! My kids have also written stories, but they're not nearly as excited about their stories as I am. So I'm waiting...hopefully.

Thank goodness for alternatives!
Hope the Lappy isn't too much longer!
I love the story about your little ones tale!

Ooh, how cool is that? Better than finding money in your pocket after doing the wash, huh? LOL

I've re-discovered my AlphaSmart. I'm loving it too. I'm not tempted to edit or go on the Internet.

I love it when my daughter writes stories. A couple times I've gone to use my laptop and found her typing away. She's very serious about it, edits her stories and everything. I love it.

How sweet! It's great when some of this writing bug rubs off on our kids. I love seeing my children grow and learn. :)

That is a joyful experience as a parent! Although not a story, I did once find a beaded bracelet snuck in my suitcase made by my youngest daughter before I went on my first business trip, and she attached a note. It was very sweet. I must admit I have never heard of the Alpha!

I feel that way when I see my kids reading, because it doesn't happen very often.

It's so awesome to find little surprises from our kids. Sometimes I forget they are their own people with their own thoughts and dreams and it's fun to get insight on the way they view the world.
I think I'd like an alphasmart - I'll have to put that on the wishlist.
