Sorry. I'm Not Posting Today

I'm not posting today, because I can't think of anything to say.

Maybe it's because I have to get a lesson ready for church.

Or that I stayed up way too late last night reading a book that I said I couldn't "get into" and suddenly found myself unable to set it down.

Maybe it's because I feel like I should say something about who I am and am afraid that there is nothing much to say.

Perhaps it's because I gave up chocolate and even though I feel a ton better, I still think about the way it melts on my tongue.

You know it might be because I found that cool new song that won't get out of my head, but I don't really care, because it makes my spirit soar and my lips turn into a smile (even when I'm driving).

It's probably because I have characters mingling in my thoughts and I just can't think of anything more than what I should write about them in the next scene.

So nope. I'm not posting today.

*startled surprise*

Hey, I think I just posted something. Opps. Maybe next week I won't post (but I probably will).

So tell me...Do you find other things coming in the way of posting on your blog? Please let it be writing! *fingers crossed*

Yes, school gets in the way alot of the time.

WHY would you give up chocolate? Dark chocolate has all sorts of antioxidants and feel goods in it...
I can't get through winter without it ;)

Song? Are you really going to leave us hanging like that?

Really?

Also - I don't write in order. Write what you want, when you want. You can pull your hair sorting it out later on :)

Yeah, I want to know what that song is, too! ;)

I'm glad to hear you got into the book more. You'll have to let me know what you think by the end of it.

I'm sorry you're not posting today. :(

I love the non-post post. ;)

And you're killing me with not telling me the song!

Life tends to get in the way of my posting. When I am busy and have a lot to post about is when I post the least!

Yes, writing gets in the way of me posting. Mostly because when I'm in a great creative sink with my MS, I can't muster up anything of interest to put on my blog. Lots of other things get in the way of me blogging too, though.

I'm so sad you aren't posting today! Well, I'm sure you have a list of good reasons for that.

(congratulations about the chocolate! I hope it gets easier and you continue to feel great.)

I was so sad you were't posting today and wondered who it was that posted for you, until I found that you did post and then I was REALLY happy, and then I found out that you gave up chocolate and that made me sad, 'cause I love chocolate and then you mentioned a song that made you happy and I smiled with happiness and then you didn't tell us the name of the song and that made me sad and then you mentioned your writing and that made me happy 'cause I wanted to hear all about it and then your post ended. *sigh* That was a very long sentence.

Hehe. I smiled at your creativity. :) I always have too much to do and not enough time to post, and sometimes not even the desire to post. But look at you -- you created a fun post just by saying you're not posting.

By the way, I haven't had any chocolate since August and I miss it terribly. I'm on a migraine-free diet and chocolate was the first to go. *Sigh*

Yikes, no chocolate! That's tough...

I keep a blog notebook so that if I am struggling ideas I have a list of potential ideas.

Happy New Year!

I always manage to get in a post a week. If I know I'll be out of town, then I do a post in advance and schedule it to post a few days later.

But I've come close to not posting. I'd say the day job is what saps me the most.

You're too funny! And yes, other things in the way of blogging. Other things called ... wait for it ... wait for it ... life. Yeah. I wish it was writing. *sigh*

Very good not-post.

I enjoyed your non-post post. :)

BUT, I want to know what the book was and the song.

Happy 2011!

Yes, life gets in the way all the time. Stupid life!

Absolutely writing is getting in the way of my blogging. I just took a blogging break, partly so I can have more time to write, and partly because I can't think of a single thing to blog about, and I think it's probably because my mind's too busy thinking about my wip.

You gave up chocolate? I'm inspired. Way to go!

Blogging is my writing procrastination tool...but lately life has really gotten in the way. Work has been super stressful so that by the time I get home, I'm completely mentally drained and can't begin to blog. I'm hoping that changes soon!

Tiana Smith said...

Ha! I wish it were writing. Usually the things that get in my way are just everyday things, like making dinner, cleaning, etc. My life is so not glamorous :)

Vicki Rocho said...

Very Seinfeld-ish of you to post about nothing! tee hee.

I find my blogging gets in the way of everything else. It's so much easier to dash out a blog post than it is to get that next scene right. I just feel like I've accomplished something!

My visitations are down though...as you can tell since it took me a flipping week to get over here to read your non-post. Nothing personal, just trying to write more WIP words than anything else.

Carolyn Abiad said...

So what's the name of the book you mentioned in this non-post post?

Katie Mills said...

Definitely. Sometimes my day is just too busy for me to post on a regular schedule. I don't post ahead of time but usually put it together in the morning time. And lately it feels like I've been rooting my posts off just about whatever crosses my mind. lol.

Lynn said...

Absolutely! I post almost everyday on my photo blog and find if I'm thinking too much about photos, I'm shutting down my creative writing causing my writing blog to suffer. It's a fine balance I haven't quite mastered yet.

School for sure is my biggest enemy when it comes to posting on my blog. Between going to classes and doing homework, sometimes the last thing I want to do is get back on the computer and use some brain cells to write a post. I enjoy writing it and reading other blogs to stop altogether though :) Giving up chocolate....wow, I don't think I could do that. You certainly have courage.

You gave up chocolate !!!!!!!!!
I was going to give up choc this week but then when I walked into the store they had my favourite choc on special! I couldn't pass that by!

Right now, yeah. It's definitely writing.
