Words of Wisdom...sort of

I wanted to thank everyone's well wishes and emails in the last two weeks. Thanks! Everything is getting back to normal, kids are bored with summer, laundry is piling up. *content sigh* Yup back to normal.

Ugh! I've started this post three times!!!

I wanted to write down some awesome words of wisdom, but nothing is sounding too wisdomy. So I've decided to write myself some short thoughts (because sometimes I forget):

1. Just do it!!!

2. Keep doing it!!!

3. You're doing great!!!

4. You're almost done!!!

Okay, There you go.

The number one word of advice for any writer--is to do it! That's what makes you a writer. Do you guys have any other wisdomy words of advice that you like to give yourself?

If you haven't heard around the blog-o-sphere, WriteOnCon is going on this week. Just go to WriteOnCon.com. =)

Don't be harsh on yourself. And yes, just do it. Even if it's only a few minutes or inches at a time. Keep doing it.

Those are the best words of wisdom ever. After all, that's what it really comes down to, right? Just. Do. It.

Great advice- glad to hear things are getting back to normal.

I love 'embrace the power of suck' too that is brilliant.

I might add to 'just do it'...and don't let anybody else tell you that theirs is the only way to do it right.

Or that they did it first and better.

Just concentrate on how you're doing it. Don't worry about the other guy- or girl, if the 'other' person is, in fact, a woman.

Welcome back!! I strongly believe that YOU have to believe you can do it in order to actually do it. :)

while I'm writing a first draft, its MY story. I'm writing for me because I want to get lost in the story and the characters. A first draft isn't the place to worry about what anyone else thinks. There'll be enough of that later on down the road. For now, I just have fun and enjoy what I'm doing. Great post!

Excellent advice. Persistence will eventually pay off...and even if it takes a while, at least you're making progress along the way. :)
